Hempathy is a blend of hemp, cotton and modal. While it is a little stiff during knitting, it softens beautifully in the wash and drapes wonderfully and the pattern support is wonderful! We have a couple sweaters knit from the Sunnyside Collection and a new sample has just arrived from Elsebeth's book fourteen, Dreamweaver. Check out the new colors.
And, just to brag a little bit, here is my daughter Tara sporting her first knitting project. Seriously! She has always said she is not the knitter in the family, but I guess when you see something you really love, it doesn't matter what you say, just what you can do. It took several months for her to get past the waistband and then it was smooth sailing. She took it on the bus and knit every day on it making sure she did at least one color change per day. If she can do it, you can too. The pattern is called Hip in Hemp and is available through Knitty.com. It took 3 balls of each color, 4 of the brown. I would recommend that you change the beginning of the round marker when you get to the YO sections so you are not changing colors at a YO, though. Discuss this project in our Forums.
